One thing (and I’m actually serious about this): if you’re gonna show Ben’s penis, you should Ellen’s vagina. A single, small line. No, not because I’m a comic perv, but because making her a baldie (a la Barbie) seems strangely sexist. Although I know you’re actually doing it to be polite, there’s no good reason why a vagina should be “dirtier” than a penis.

Actually, I was planning on drawing pubic hair on both of them in color, which would have helped to indicate Ellen’s vagina. I just forgot!

To be fair, I don’t know if a doll with pubic hair would sell as well.
Also, some boys play with Barbies and if they find themselves identifying as female, a sex-specific doll may be more off-putting than a gender neutral one (considering that men can grow breasts or at least appear to have them).

Been reading Bellen for quite a while now but have always been shy to comment. This comic, like the first few ones, is so simple yet it creates such an impact. I realise I am probably being overly-dramatic here but I keep coming back to it. Well done, Mr. Brown
